In these passages, Jesus observes a poor widow giving two small copper coins (mites) as an offering in the temple treasury, emphasizing the significance of her sacrificial giving.
In a broader sense, "mite coin" can also be used metaphorically to refer to a small or insignificant amount of currency. It underscores the idea of giving or contributing, regardless of the size, and highlights the importance of generosity and sacrifice.
However, in the context of digital assets, the mite coin is one part of a project named after the biblical mite story with a goal of building a community living out Matthew 20:15. God can even use meme coins to change lives!
I could tell you the Mite Project was developed by a team of crypto experts to guarantee massive returns. Um…hard no bruh!
The reality could not be further from the truth. The idea of the Mitecoin Project came to a regular person with no crypto expertise over 2 sleepless nights in mid-March 2024.
First and foremost, this project unashamedly started out 100% as a straight up meme coin. I mean, bruh! Come on - Taylor Swift’s cat? Really?
The problem is meme coins, by definition, have no utility. With no utility, all late comers to the “community” are left holding bags. So, what about the late comers to the Mite Coin community? No worries. Everyone in the Mite community has a chance to win Mite Bags.
Mitecoin Match’em
Matthew 20:15 (CSB) “Don’t I have the right to do what I want with what is mine? Are you jealous because I’m generous?”
Mitecoin Match’em is the primary andvertising/marketing aspect of the Mitecoin community. The Match’em process involves up to 52 Mitecoin holders selecting 1 card from a 52 card deck. Match’ems will be streamed live and the community will vote and see instant results. After 5 rounds of elimination, 1 winning card is determined. The owner of the winning card has the opportunity to collect the corresponding Match’em Bag.
Match’em Roadmap: Participants in each Match’em will be sent an NFT version of their card. The elimination rounds would then be carried out over 5 days - allowing for community members with potential winning NFT cards to auction their card before being eliminated. Or they may choose to hold it for the potential big win!
Mitecoin Payouts
A bit of history - the dev and his wife sold their home a few years ago and grabbed a bag of Solana when it was significantly lower than it is now. It has been a tremendous blessing. Not cray level stuff - they are still operating their home daycare business, but still a tremendous blessing. The start up costs for this project have been funded by that investment. Out of the gate, Mitecoin Match’em will be funded by them. If the Mitecoin community keeps every last dollar of profit to themselves, this project will be dead as soon as the dev portion is gone. BUT...if our community grows and holders drop even a $1 worth of Mitecoin into the Match’em Wallets, we are headed to the moon! This project is not targeting the whales. If Match’em Bags hit $500 or $1000, we hope the winners are overwhelmed! If our community really shows up? WOW!
And I know about the crypto scams. Who would be stupid enough to send money to an unknown wallet! We have work to do to build the trust of the community. Not to take you to church on a crypto website, but the dev is a follower of Christ and his wife, his kids, his friends, his daycare families...basically everyone - knows he is doing this.
